TRAVEL ADVISORY – Week of Oct. 14

OVERNIGHT CLOSURES/DETOURS & MAJOR CHANGES COMING TO I-295/NJ RTE. 29 INTERCHANGE NEXT WEEKEND
Daytime Closures/Detours of PA Route 32/River Road to Continue Oct. 15-17

EWING, NJ – A significant construction milestone for the Scudder Falls Bridge Replacement Project is expected to be achieved next weekend as work crews bring the first of two planned roundabouts fully online on the downstream side of the I-295/Route 29 interchange (Exit 76) in Ewing, N.J.

The roundabout, which has been partially open, in recent months, is expected to be brought into full service with a series of overnight ramp closures and detours Friday, Oct. 19, through Sunday, Oct. 21.

Leading up to these weekend travel restrictions, Route 29 SB will continue to be closed during overnight hours in the vicinity of the Scudder Falls Bridge Monday, Oct. 15, through Friday, Oct. 19.

Meanwhile, on the Pennsylvania side of the Scudder Falls Bridge, PA Route 32/River Road will continue to be closed and detoured in the vicinity of the bridge during daytime hours Monday, Oct. 15, to Wednesday, Oct. 17.  These travel restrictions will allow construction crews to lift and install 10-foot-high steel girders between recently completed support piers for the new replacement bridge’s upstream span.
