Travel restrictions for the Scudder Falls Bridge Replacement Project are scheduled to resume after the Labor Day holiday weekend travel period ends effective noon Tuesday, Sept. 5.

The one significant change to the lane-closure regimen will be an overnight shutdown and corresponding detour for the I-95 southbound off ramp to NJ Route 29 (Exit 1) late Tuesday, Sept. 5, into early Wednesday, Sept. 6.

The scheduled project-related travel restrictions are as follows:

New Jersey side

  • I-95 SB ramp to NJ Route 29 (Exit 1) – Ramp closure with signed detour from 10 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, to 6 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6. Detour: Exit I-95 southbound at the Route 579/Bear Tavern Road interchange (Exit 2) prior to the I-95/Route 29 interchange (Exit 1); follow Route 579/Bear Tavern Road south to the second traffic light, turn right onto West Upper Ferry Road (CR-643) and follow that to the end of the detour at Route 29.
  • Route 175/River Road – Alternating single-lane travel in the vicinity of the I-95 overpass 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6 to Friday, Sept. 8.

Pennsylvania side

  • I-95 northbound from the Route 332/Newtown-Yardley interchange (Exit 49) to the Scudder Falls Bridge – intermittent single-lane travel configurations resume noon Tuesday, Sept. 5 to 6 a.m. (next day) and 10 a.m. to 6 a.m. (next day) Wednesday, Sept. 6 through Friday, Sept. 8.
  • I-95 southbound from the Scudder Falls Bridge to the Route 332/Newtown-Yardley interchange (exit 49) – intermittent single-lane travel configurations 8 p.m. to 2 p.m. (next day) Tuesday, Sept. 5 through Friday, Sept. 8.
  • Woodside Road west of Taylorsville Road – Intermittent alternating single-lane travel controlled by flaggers resumes noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6 to Friday, Sept. 8.
  • River Road/Route 32 – Intermittent alternating single-lane travel controlled by flaggers resumes noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5 and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday Sept. 6 to Friday, Sept. 8.

Weekends: All project-related travel restrictions are suspended for the Labor Day holiday weekend, 6 a.m. Friday, Sept. 1 to noon Tuesday, Sept. 5. No project-related lane closures are currently scheduled for Sept. 9-10.

The scheduled travel restrictions listed above are subject to change due to weather, emergency, traffic, and project mobilization considerations. Motorists are urged allow extra time to reach their destinations, reduce speeds, and exercise caution when traveling through project work areas.
