LOWER MAKEFIELD, PA – The towpath for the Delaware Canal on the Pennsylvania side of the Scudder Falls Bridge is scheduled to be closed during daytime hours Thursday, Friday, and next Monday, the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission announced today.
The scheduled closures are needed so construction workers can install small steel beams to the approach bridge structure that carries I-95 across the canal and towpath. The approach bridge is being widened as one facet of the ongoing Scudder Falls Bridge Replacement Project.
The towpath closure times and dates are as follows:
- 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30; Friday, Dec. 1; and Monday, Dec. 4.
The aforementioned closure periods are subject to change due to weather, emergency, traffic, and mobilization considerations. Pedestrians and bicyclists are urged to exercise caution when travelling near or through work areas for the duration of the 4-1/2-year-long bridge replacement project.
