LOWER MAKEFIELD, PA – Two ramps at the I-295/Taylorsville Road interchange (Exit 10) on the Pennsylvania side of the Scudder Falls Toll Bridge have reopened, ending a three-week closure/detour that has been in place since June 1.
The two ramps returned to service a day ahead of schedule, according to the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission.
They were closed June 1 to allow construction crews to install drainage pipes and connections beneath or in close proximity to the ramps, both of which border a newly constructed storm-water basin. The excavated areas have been back-filled and temporarily repaved. The ramps will be fully realigned/repaved later in the project, when they will be tied into a new approach roadway that will carry New Jersey-bound traffic to the Scudder Falls Toll Bridge’s second span currently under construction at the river.
