One month remains until the May 27 target date for final completion of the five-year-long Scudder Falls Bridge Replacement Project.
Remaining tasks include miscellaneous punch list work and tree planting/landscaping at various locations within the project limits in Ewing, N.J. and Lower Makefield, PA.
Temporary single lane closures are possible — with no travel delays — during daytime hours Monday through Friday along either direction of I-295 in the vicinity of the bridge from now to late May.
Meanwhile, daily closures of the Route 29 southbound bypass lane are possible on select weekdays at the I-295/NJ Route 29 interchange in New Jersey. When the bypass lane is closed, affected traffic will be diverted through the interchange’s roundabouts and connector lanes for reconnection with Route 29 south for travel toward Trenton and other points south.
Short-term stoppages also are possible during weekday daytime hours along River Road/PA Route 32 in the vicinity of the bridge. Only brief delays are expected, as the traffic stoppages will be by flagger details.
