A series of public involvement efforts were conducted in preparation for the Scudder Falls Bridge Replacement Project. These outreach efforts are expected to continue during project construction. The aim is to keep the public up to date as much as possible on construction progress, travel impacts and major upcoming changes – such as the initiation of all-electronic toll collection sometime in 2019.
This website is a centerpiece element of the project’s public involvement program. Other activities will include – but not be limited to – the following:
- Providing regular updates to the project website, including construction progress reports and other outreach materials
- Issuing and posting weekly project travel advisories and notices of any major travel pattern changes/detours
- Conducting a toll-free phone line for individuals seeking to register comments or ask questions
- Providing an online contact portal for individuals seeking to register comments or ask questions
- Providing guest speakers (when and where feasible) for business groups and community civic organizations
- Raising public awareness of the onset of tolling in 2019 and encouraging E-ZPass use so customers can save money
Next Major Project Milestone
The first span of the Scudder Falls Replacement Bridge is expected to be completed and opened to traffic – with tolls collected electronically in the NJ-to-PA direction in early summer 2019.
